Circuit Diagram of Three Phase Series Inverter :

  1. A three phase series inverter can be obtained by connecting three separate single phase inverters together as shown in Figure A.
  2. If capacitors Cand C2are large enough then each phase will function as an independent series inverter.
  3. The values of the L, C and R components connected in series with each SCR are selected in such a way that the current response is underdamped.
  4. The sequence in which the six SCRs are triggered is S1S6, S2S4S3and S5. The frequency of triggering gate waveform is 6 times the output frequency. If the output frequency is 50 Hz then the frequency of the triggering waveforms is 300 Hz.
