Power Frequency High Voltage Test on Transformer

  • This test is made with the help of single phase a.c. voltage of sinusoidal waveforms as far as possible and at a frequency not less than 80% of rated frequency.
  • At the end of the test, the voltage is rapidly reduced to less than 1/3rd of the test voltage and then the supply is switched off.
  • The peak value of voltage is measured with the help of digital peak voltmeter Peak value associated with capacitive voltage divider. The test voltage is than peak value / √2.
