Precaution When Working With Electrical Installation

1. Don’t use loose clothing; Don’t use clothes with metallic buttons.

2. Don’t use nailed shoes.

3. Don’t keep with you the metallic keys, chains while working. 

4.Treat everything as live.

5.Thick before you act. 

6.To appropriate places keep “Danger” board, flag-with red color, warning board. 

7.In storm, stop working.

8. Place yourself secured while working. 

9. Use insulated gloves/shoes.

10. Only qualified man should do the work. 

11. For big work, get the permit work from appropriate authority. 

12. For repairing work, the equipment should be shut off and earthed.

13.The procedure to start and to stop the work should be well defined and clear-cut with no-ambiguity.

14. Carry the repair works as far as possible in day-light. 

15. Use proper ladder, safety belt while working on over-head line.

16. The supervisor should be attentive all the time while work in process. 

17. The necessary entries should be made in the Log-Book

18. When working on “Live Mains” the working person should be accompanied by at least one more  person who shall preferably be capable of rendering first aid and artificial respiration.

19.On completion of work, all earthling devices should be removed.

20. Accidents must be immediately reported, to get medical aid.
