The equipment may have :
- Low value of volume resistance.
- Surface resistance may be lower.
- Dielectric strength must have been lower.
- Dielectric constant (∈) may be lower.
- Dielectric loss might be more.
- Viscosity, porosity, solubility might be more.
- Might have been chemically affected.
- Due to Aging.
- Poor quality of elements might have been used.
- Introduction of contaminants.
Proper repairs, replacements, drying out, removing dirt, dust greese, keeping in clean place, when not in used proper protection by providing cover will increase the insulation resistance.
