(A) Combined Wind Diesel Power Plant Wind plant

Suitability :

  • In remote areas where wind is favourable and diesel Supply is no problem.
  • If wind is not certain for a length of period then diesel power generates electricity and feeds the grid. So also when wind power plant is taken for maintenance, the diesel plant can supply the power.
  • The additional components such as storage battery, inverter rectifier units play their part and make the power supply system as a complete one.

(B) Combined Solar and Wind Power Plant

  • This combination also works satisfactorily.
  • In uncertainty of wind source, solar system can work and vice-versa. Battery can store electrical energy produced by either stations. The combination can feed the power to the grid system.
