Radio Frequency (RF) Heating
Definition of Radio Frequency (RF) Heating :
- Radio frequency heating is a type of high frequency heating in which the frequencies of operation range from hundreds of kilohertz to tens of megahertz; and is basically dependent upon the heating effect of alternating current.
Types of Radio Frequency (RF) Heating :
RF heating is classified as follows :
- Induction heating
- Dielectric heating
Induction heating is done by making use of eddy current loss taking place in an, and is hence used for heating metallic objects.
Dielectric heating, on the other hand, makes use of dielectric loss taking place in an imperfect dielectric materials, and is therefore, suitable for heating non metals.
